Asheville Recruiting center Recruiter, Staff Sgt. Chad Davie loves
to share his Army story. His story includes the enlistment
of his two oldest daughters into the Army. "When I talk with female
applicants and parents, I tell them about my daughters," said Chad Davie.
"I believe the Army is a
good experience for them," it is a great first step
and gives them and direction purpose." They take the initial move
towards independence and self-discovery.
His oldest daughter, 19 year old Pfc. Chestley Davie is
serving in the Army as a Pharmacy Specialist in Hawaii. Most
recently, 17 year old daughter Pvt. Cadence Davie, graduated from basic
training at Fort
Jackson, S.C. She graduated in January from Clyde A.
Erwin High School in Asheville, N.C. She will attend advanced individual training
to become a Human Resource Specialist before returning to Asheville
to join her Reserve unit and attend college. "I want to learn sign
language and physical therapy to eventually work with special needs children,"
said Cadence.
Cadence said basic training was a wonderful experience.
"I enjoyed learning all I needed to know about how to be a Soldier,"
stated Cadence. She found it challenging and rewarding to overcome obstacles, adapt
to others, and learn to live so close to other people as you get to know
them.
"I've grown up around the Army. It's all I've
known." said Cadence. "I want to better myself and I look forward to representing my
country and serving -being part of the 1% who join and serve," she said.
"I'm very
proud of my daughters and know they will make me and the Army proud," said Chad Davie.
