Three Swamp Fox Soldiers compete for Brigade honors



From the Columbia Battalion Command Sgt. Maj. Jody King to the Swamp Fox Battalion:

Please give praise to the Columbia Battalion Soldiers who competed at the 2nd Brigade Annual Award Board at Fort Benning, Ga. from Feb. 22-26, 2016 .

Competed in the category of:

Regular Army NCO of the Year:  Staff Sgt. Christopher Carpio from Orangeburg Recruiting Center in Augusta Company.


Staff Sgt. Christopher Carpio, Orangeburg Recruiting Center, Augusta Company is the sixth Soldier from the left.


Army Reserve NCO of the Year: Sgt. 1st Class Daniel West from Aiken Recruiting Center in Augusta Company.

Sgt. 1st Class Daniel West, Aiken Recruiting Center, Augusta Company is the first Soldier from the left.


Center Leader of the Year: Sgt. 1st Class Joseph Frost from Sylvia Recruiting Center in Asheville Company.

Sgt. 1st Class Joseph Frost, Sylvia Recruiting Center, Asheville Company is the third Soldier from the left.



These Soldier went through some physically, mentally, and challenging events during the week.  Competition was fierce and competitive and included these tasks:

12 Mile Road March
Land Navigation Course
Weapons Qualification on the EST2000
Essays
Written Tests
Army Physical Fitness Test
Board


Each Swamp Fox Soldier represent the battalion well.  Frost and Carpio had the top two fastest time in the 12 Mile and highest score for the APFT (300).
