Columbia Company Recruiters along with Hometown Recruiter Program Soldiers spent time Thursday, February 26 giving
to the community.
On a chilly day in downtown Finlay Park Columbia, S.C.
Recruiters served grilled hamburgers and hot dogs and passed out clothes to
those in need. "This is really great, what they are doing,"
said one gentleman who referred to himself as temporarily residentially challenged. "I'm glad we were able to do this for our
community," said Sgt. 1st Class Stephanie McLeod, Center Commander for the Sand Hills
Recruiting Center. "I talked to a few veterans today, this was a way to show we
care."

Two of the Soldiers were participating in the U.S. Army Hometown Recruiter Assistance Program (HRAP) Through HRAP, recent enlistees volunteer to return to their hometowns, or places of enlistment, and relate their Army experiences to interested people in the local community. They help the recruiters with daily duties and were on hand at the community outreach event.
While passing out drinks, Pfc. Khadijah Marason said, "It's cold, but
I'm glad I could be out here. It is another way to serve."
The company is looking forward to conducting more community
outreach projects this year.
