This week is all about showcasing the Army
to football athletes and coaches, high school band members and influential
community leaders and educators.
We have ten community leaders from the 5th
Recruiting Brigade area and 15 community leaders from the Medical Recruiting
Brigade footprint.
90 carefully selected high school football
players from across the United States from the East and West teams to represent
the nation’s strength. The game will be held on Jan. 3, 2015 in San Antonio,
Texas, at the Alamo dome. It will be aired live at 1:00 p.m. EST on NBC
nationally and to the Soldiers deployed overseas.
The halftime performance is played by the
U.S. Army All-American Marching Band which consists of 125 students
representing band members from across the nation.
The players and band members embrace the
characteristics of the nation’s Army Soldier and in their actions and deeds
they exhibit to the American public the Army Values: Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless
Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage.
Throughout
the week, both of these group interact with Army Soldiers and learn the what it means to be a Soldier and the
strengths needed for anyone interested in taking that life changing step to
become a Soldier today.
